220lbs Progress Photos

Finally hit 220lbs. Phew. My chest has finally developed enough that I'm not embarrassed taking shirtless photos anymore. I'm estimating another 20lbs till I actually start posting shirtless photos.

Here I am last year-ish at 200lbs:

After comparing these pics, I'm a little scared to measure my arms...I think they've gotten smaller. *sigh*

364/114 + 365/116 New Computer, New Facial Hair

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been spending the past few days setting up my new computer...and dealing with the arduous task of organizing files, transferring settings and spending 12 hours installing software.

His name is HYPERION: GOD OF MUSIC AND PORNOGRAPHY. This is my first serious workstation since Orange Parfait from High School. And, let me tell you, my new workstation is a much deserved beast of burden:

CPU	Intel Quad Core i7-920, running at 3.3GHz
Memory	9 Gigs of Ram (Yes, 9)
Hard drive	80GB SSD by Intel (and a secondary, lesser drive for files, etc)
Graphics	Dual nVidia GeForce GT 220, 1024MB

Ohhhh man...I've needed a *real* workstation for so long. Photoshop 64bit is amazingly fast. No more lag...everything feels instantaneous. And now that I've got graphics cards (my previous machines had "integrated graphics") I can finally try my hand at video editing and motion graphics. So exciting.

Also, I shaved. Thoughts?

I've been doing all my grocery shopping with Mr January...so going home means no food.

Luckily, I live near an In and Out. Not the best San Francisco burger, but the tastiest for under $4. You know it's healthy by how neon-green the lettuce is.

Non-sequitur: Foo Dogs have the most difficult hair. It's all curly and I've never drawn curly hair before.

Soooo, I'm thinking about doing VOID. It's this awesome little site where artists design fighters and pit them against other artists' creations through comic battles.

I really want to enter Arc Tangent as a fighter, but his over-sexualized character design might not go over well on VOID. WHICH IS WHY I've created CAPTAIN COUTURA.

Still figuring out his super powers, but I imagine one of them will be submission voguing:

I have a love/hate relationship with pants. I love pants because they look sexy...yet I hate them because they're so uncomfortable.

The problem are my big legs: 28" thighs to a 32" waist means I'm (proportionately) very difficult to fit.

I was about to endure another pant-less, cold-legs Winter in my thermal hot pants until Mr January suggested I check out Levi's custom jeans program. (Flashback to my previous custom jeans adventure). Actually, it turns out that the custom-jeans program just offers bedazzling and patching services, not Big-and-Tall jeans.

Nevertheless! I was surprised to discover that Levis actually makes jeans that I can wear! And are stylish! And aren't overly baggy! Gasp!

So, it's official: I'm a Levi's 559 33x30. Still not as comfortable or stylish as the discontinued GAP Loose Boot Fit Jeans (I ripped my only pair, sigh), but they fit...and were cheap...and Mr J likes them. So yay.

Oh, and I bought a new jacket.

WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN DONE BEFORE?!

On the left we have a timeless Winter Jacket. But! With a few modifications...MAGIC! The same jacket suddenly gives you the build of a super hero! It's inconspicuous enough that I could TOTALLY wear it without anyone suspecting me of being skinny.

Can anybody point me in the direction of a good colouring tutorial? (Bernie, help?!) I'm so bad at colouring...and inking. Really need to brush up on this stuff.

Two days since surgery. Still too difficult to chew food, but I'm no longer groggy/nauseous and was able to return to work.

Well. Mostly. The nausea returned in the afternoon—seemingly triggered by REST-ful implementation of PUSH/DELETE at the office.

I'm no longer taking Vicodin. It's not meshing with me very well. Whatever pain relief it gives me is quickly accompanied by terrible itchiness, blurry vision and trouble breathing? Meh! Acetaminophen works just fine without the crazy side effects.

Had my wisdom teeth removed today. Thanks to the anesthesia, I don't even remember taking this photo.

Yikes, look at all those tools behind me...

This is the first time I've ever been prescribed a pain killer. Everyone online warned me that the pain would be unbearable and that I would probably need to take a week off from work.

Ha!

Perhaps my oral surgeon is just really skilled, but the pain isn't that bad! My swollen face is causing me much more trouble; my deep, sultry radio-voice has been reduced to a slurring, lisping whine; I can't chew anything thicker than yogurt; everything tastes like blood...AND I have to wear a towel-bib because I'm always dribbling ooze from my wisdom-teeth-holes. Gross!

I don't think the Vicodin is doing anything. It's really just giving me itches and nausea.

Can't wait till this is all over. Mr January has been the most perfect boyfriend, and even cut up my food (despite my aggressive independence). I look forward to being able to show him my appreciation. And kiss him.

Funny story: Nobody liked those white glasses from Face-a-Face.

Soooo...I started over. Everything else on my glasses-wish-list already looked like my current specs. I decided I wanted something simple, unobtrusive, professional...but somehow unique.

WA-BAM: UNDOSTRIAL's collection was everything I wanted. Super minimalistic frames that complemented my face and were unique. The pair I picked have a LEATHER inlay.

Everything smells like a leather bar when I wear them...very sexy.

Had my oral surgeon consult today. Besides having a very high success rate and a PERFECT 5-star score on Yelp, he was considerate and didn't nag me about my poor flossing technique. I was sold.

These darn wisdom teeth are killing me. And one of them is rotting so Mr January doesn't like kissing me with my rotting-tooth-breath.

2009 Atlantis Gay Cruise (LA to Mexico) PHOTOS

Yikes...sorry for taking so long to document this. The cruise lasted 7-AMAZING days, and I'm still sorting through the photos. That hot bear in all the photos was my cabin-mate and best friend Bill (link is to his Bear411 profile...he's single! Gasp!)
The descriptions are short and might be fleshed out as I find the patience to elaborate. Enjoy!

	Day 1 — Departure The flight out of SFO was pretty inconsequential. Virgin America is my favourite airline and consistently delivers me quickly and painlessly to my destination. Boarding the cruise ship was...almost as painless. There were 4,000+ gay men rushing to get aboard; feathers were constantly getting stuck in the magnetic scanner. (I guess they're bomb material, or something? Maybe just highly flammable?) Anyway! We boarded the ship, made our way to the room...and were greeted by flowers AND champagne from Mr January! Shock! Surprise! So sweet! I had no idea you could get flowers on a cruise ship... The champagne really helped kick off the cruise.
	Day 2 — Dog tag Tea Dance I think my favourite thing about the cruise was how thoroughly planned all the dances, parties and dinners were organized. On our first day at Sea we had a Dog Tag tea dance (an afternoon party) followed by a couple drag-queen-hosted comedies and several visits to the all-you-can-eat buffets. The Dog Tag party was a lot of fun; everyone was issued dog tags which you could attach stickers based on your availability. (Eg: Red for taken, Yellow for maybe, and Green for available. While many folks had Two-Greens for VERY Available I had two reds for Guys, I'm, like, soooo taken). I wore my wrestling singlet, Bill dressed like a Sailor/player.
	Day 3 — LEVEL 5 HURRICANE Level 5 Hurricane? More like Level 5 Party-pooper. Hurricane Rick was thrashing up the coast of Mexico, so our captian reversed the order of our cruise. Our original itinerary was Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and then Puerto Vallarta on the last day. To avoid the storm we altered course to visit Puerto Vallarta first, skip Mazatlan, and do Cabo last. No big, really...I got plenty of time to tan despite the tropical depression.
	Day 4 — Puerto Vallarta! Finally! Our first day ashore! Stepping off the ship we were instantly acosted by people pushing suveniors, necklaces, pipes and massages. It was crazy. Just looking in their direction and the street peddlers would swoop in, aggressively trying to sell their wares. When I actually tried buying a necklace I was swarmed by shop vendors while I waited for my change. The weather was very tropical: it would rain every five minutes. I loved it. Shopping in the gay district of PV was pretty nifty. After buying three pairs of swim trunks and short shorts my credit card was frozen for suspicious activity. Eventually we made our way to a roof-top gay bar. Beautiful view. Creeeeepy strippers. The strippers had just as much bravado and gusto as their jewelery-hawking counterparts. Less than a minute in the gay bar and they're naked...I tried not to look fearing they might try to push their jewels on me like the bead sellers.
	Day 5 — At Sea! Again! ...I think there was another leather party. Something. Anyway, I met 300-something-pound Stan.
	Day 6 — Cabo San Lucas!!! Cabo is ALL about the beach. We skipped the town and hailed a water taxi to take us to Lover's Beach. The gays had taken the beach by storm. Some brought iPod-boomboxes equiped with 90's Diva Dance music. It was very fun...Skimpy-swimwear of every shape, colour and ass-enhancing countour. Bill got a lot of sun. But it looked good on him! (Bill, don't be so shy!)
	Day 7 — WHITE PARTY!!!!!!1 This was the craziest party. By far. Besides lasting 12-hours (11pm-11am the next day) there were rumoured to be ~15 over doses and one death. Crazy. Bill and I went to bed pretty early, woke up the next day, got breakfast, and re-grouped just before the party was shut down.

Everyone remember how I did some doodles for the NYC Santa Speedo Run forever ago? I was surprised to discover that the SF bears were considering doing a run as well! Even more surprised that they wanted me to doodle for them!

I have a meeting tomorrow at Cafe Bearbucks in the Castro. I have many more doodles to share...we'll see what they want me to finish. Hopefully I'll get to stick with my strong-suit and avoid doing something Chibi/Cartoony/Anime-y.
